[Mobile App Revolution] // Foursquare for Designers?
I’m registered for the Arch Digest Home Design Show thanks to a wonderful complimentary invite from The New Traditionalists’ CEO, Mr. Philip Erdoes.
As I start following happenings with the show and participants, I see a lot happening with it’s looping in of different technology, but still, you’ll want to attend in person no doubt. And this innovative thinking seems like a nice way for the show to celebrate it’s 10th year and celebrate ways designers can tap into technology to enhance their trade show experience.
My favorite development so far has been Designer Pages’ new app, SHOWROOMS for architects and interior designers that allows you to partake in community-driven showroom discovery - a true design piece finder at its best! They’ve included a Scavenger Hunt feature just for the AD Home Show, too. A great interactive way to engage the designers attending. Is this quite possibly the start of a sort of design-driven Foursquare?

This sort of adoption of technology only makes the true tangible nature showrooms and shops that are a part of the design industry more relevant and necessary.
