Well you should. For a while, invitations to MLKSHK’s secret-ish beta were moving through Twitter.

What is MLKSHK, you ask? It’s an image and video sharing site that’s “fun, simple, accessible and useful.” Even Boing Boing thinks so: “Creator Andre Torrez describes how he and his wife built it, bootstrapping it without investment and without having to worry about what outsiders think such a site needs to do.”

Now MLKSHK is open to the public, and they need our help. You should read this heartfelt post and then buy a subscription to MLKSHK. I JUST DID!

NY Design Week // What To See & Do

I can’t keep track of my schedule of events all over the city starting tomorrow. But, I am excited to see old and new friends at the ICFF and related events. I’ll be attending the show with The Shade Store in booth 1566.

I’ll be ranting about my daily ICFF and design week adventures on Facebook and Twitter.

I’ll be attending way too many showroom parties, and there’s no point in even setting a schedule for the Soho crawl Saturday-Monday. BUT! There’s no doubt I will have my comfortable Sperrys on a lot of the time:

There are a few events that I’ve set in stone to attend:

Friday: Metropolis magazine’s *invite-only* party with Snohetta - shhhh!

Saturday: I’ve decided the Opening Night MoMA party is lame and overrated and I’ll instead move myself downtown to the Blu Dot Party on Wooster (even though they never swapped with me), and THEN #break-down – design in your hands at Bobby Berk Home in Soho. Cupcakes and Vodka, people!

Sunday: I’m thinking I’ll hit up the Groopti.com launch party in the Meatpacking District, then I’ll Get Lit - Get Ink’d With Flos on Greene Street where Dutch designer Marcel Wanders will offer limited-edition Wanders-designed tattoos, inked by Scott Trerrotola of Ritual 13 in New York. “What could be classier than a Marcel Wanders tramp stamp?” — friend, Kristine Kaufman

Monday: The #DesignTV Joss & Main Party will be packed and fun!

The Internet Wishlist

If you haven’t seen this already, it’s worth a peek. Imagine a suggestion box for what we *still* don’t have at our finger tips.
